Russian allies, including Venezuela and Turkey, have filed a dozen requests for Mi-28N Night Hunter attack helicopters. "We have 12 export orders for Mi-28N helicopters, including from Venezuela, and are ready to fulfill any contracts," defense manufacturer Russian Helicopters said, RIA Novosti reported.
Turkey, as well, asked for some of the MI-28Ns nicknamed 'the mobile killers'.
Russia expressed readiness to meet the requests, added the source.
The MI-28, an earlier model designated by NATO as Havoc, is an all-weather day-night military attack aircraft. Fifty of the choppers are scheduled to be commissioned by 2010.
Ankara was also reportedly set to buy more than 30 used Havocs after failing to reach an agreement for purchasing US Cobra and Super Cobra choppers.
